Why do we need a Financial Consultant?

A financial consultant goes beyond the basic investment information to help you understand how to set up a process that is consistent and ongoing. This process provides you, protection to meet your due diligence as directed by the California Constitution for 457 government plans and ERISA for 401k and 403b plans.

What are my options?

It is important to understand what you are responsible for as a co-fiduciary responsible for oversight over other people's money. As an appointed committee oversight member you are responsible for understanding plan costs, who pays these, and assure that these costs are fair as compared to the market. Assuring the plan meets its due diligence and always for the benefit of the participants.

What am I signing off as a member of the retirement oversight committee?

By signing off on the DocuSign appointment form you are accepting being part of the oversight committee as a fiduciary and financial stewart. The document provides a manual and guideline to assist you in understanding the steps and process that allows you as a member to provide oversight on the funds offered and the way their performance is measured along with the help from a prudent expert, your fiduciary advisor.
